Congratulations Davida!

Davida Simon, make up artist on "Spotless" and "Shadow Game" has been honored for her work with Cancer Patients: 2012 BETTE KEMMEN AWARD This award is given to the LGFB volunteer deemed outstanding in their multifaceted participation in the program. Bette felt it was important to recognize the volunteers and the work they did on behalf of the patients. This year the Bette Kemmen Award is presented to Davida Simon. Davida Simon has been with the Look Good Feel Better program for over 10 years. She is always so cheerful and pleasant to all the patients in her classes. Davida conducts our “Teen classes” at Children’s hospital and she makes it a fun experience for the young teens who are going through cancer treatments. The 2 hours that she spends with those teens makes a lasting impression on them. Davida has a lot of personal experiences to share with the teens about putting makeup on celebrities such as “Brad Pitt, Natalie Cole, William Macy and many others”. She listens to the problems the teens are having with their appearance and does a great job answering their concerns. The Children’s Hospital contact requests Davida to administer the Look Good Feel Better classes at their location because she interacts so well with the teens. Davida always signs up for quite a few Look Good Feel Better sessions throughout the year and is always willing to fill in at the last minute if we need her for additional sessions. Her enthusiasm and warmth is felt by everyone in her sessions. Davida is very dedicated to her profession and is also very dedicated to the Look Good Feel Better Program. There was a time a few years ago when Davida underwent “heart surgery” and we didn’t know if she would be able to volunteer with us anymore. Davida went right back to volunteering once she felt better and we are so lucky to have her. She is a wonderful example of a dedicated volunteer who really enjoys brightening a person’s day. Davida couldn’t be with us today but we are honored to present this well-deserved award to her.
